Emotional Go Kit: Are you
prepared?
As emergency/public service
communicators we prepare our Go Kits and necessary gear to provide
essential emergency/public service communications. How prepared are you
concerning your emotional wellness during one of these events? This
webinar address's the emotional well-being and preparedness for those
amateur radio communicators participating in emergency and public
service situations.
Chuck Blocher, Ph.D., KC2IQV,
has been an member of the amateur radio community since 2001 and
participates in emergency communications through both ARES and RACES
with a keen interest in emtional wellness. He has done extensive
research in resilience and how individuals are able to survive and
thrive through personal traumas. Chuck is a certified professional life
coach, researcher, and educator at a local college.

Doing a NIMS Compliant Exercise (Repeat
Session) This will
explain how to do a NIMS Compliant Exercise. This discussion on the
Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) to include how to
develop a HSEEP & NIMS compliant exercise. Will include different types
of exercises, how to establish good objectives, and other components of
exercise design.
Our instructor. Nick Meacher, holds a degree in Emergency Management, is
a FEMA certified Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) and a HSEEP and NIMS
Instructor. He has designed, conducted and evaluated numerous exercises
including tabletops, drills and full scale exercises. He has over 25
years experience as a responder, both in law enforcement and as a
paramedic. He is a member of the National Capital Region Incident
Management Team. |

Commercialization of Amateur Radio
On Friday, September 25, the ARRL Board of Directors
adopted guidelines on the appropriate use of Amateur Radio on behalf of
commercial, non-profit and government entities, as well as
recommendations for additional steps to be taken by the ARRL to educate
radio amateurs and others on how to prepare and train for public service
and emergency communications while complying with the current FCC Rules.
ARRL General Counsel Chris Imlay W3KD and ARRL
Regulatory Manager Dan Henderson N1ND will be our
presenters for this session.

A Visit with Laura Smith - FCC Special Counsel
Laura Smith, FCC Special Counsel for Amateur Radio Enforcement, will
visit with members of the Atlantic Division via webinar.
We were fortunate to have Laura talk with member of the Atlantic
Division Cabinet staff in early May at our Cabinet Meeting in Gettysburg
and were very pleased with her thoughts and plans for amateur
enforcement.

PA Act 88, an Update PA Act 88 is
Pennsylvania's version of the Federal PRB-1, and now that Pennsylvania's
Act 88 has been in force since December 2008, you should hear an update
about this new law.
Pennsylvania ARRL Volunteer Counsel Mike Lazaroff K3AIR, will be
giving an update on how Act 88 affects amateur radio legislation within
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. There have been several
occasions where this newly enacted legislation has assisted amateurs
within Pennsylvania.

amateur radio operator and attorney Mike Lazaroff K3AIR and ARRL General
Counsel Chris Imlay W3KD talk about dealing with zoning boards, and
PRB-1 when looking to put up amateur radio antennas.
Mike has served on his local zoning board and town council, so he has
unique experience to bring to the table to help unravel the antenna
issues. He's also been at the forefront of a recent PRB-1 action in
Pennsylvania that hams should be aware of.
